When Will I Get Married? Marriage Timing Calculator
Favourable windows from your 7th house, dasha and transits
How astrology times marriage: it looks for layers that agree. A dasha period of a planet tied to your 7th house or Venus, Jupiter touching your 7th house or its lord, and for the strongest signal, Saturn touching it too (the double transit). This calculator finds where they line up over the next ten years.
Gender is optional. Venus is weighed for everyone. Classical texts also read Jupiter as a marriage significator in a woman's chart, so selecting female adds Jupiter to the list.

Which house shows marriage in a birth chart?
The 7th house, counted from your ascendant (Lagna). The planet that rules the 7th house, any planets placed in it and any planets aspecting it all describe how marriage comes. Venus is the natural significator of marriage for everyone, and classical texts also read Jupiter as a significator in a woman's chart. The 2nd house (family) and the 11th house (fulfilment) play a supporting role.
Which dasha brings marriage?
Marriage usually comes in the mahadasha or, more precisely, the antardasha of a planet connected to the 7th house: the 7th lord, a planet in the 7th, Venus, or the lords of the 2nd and 11th. The mahadasha sets the theme for years at a time. The antardasha is where timing gets specific, which is why the windows above follow antardasha dates. You can see your own periods in the dasha calculator.
What is the double transit for marriage?
A method popularised by K. N. Rao: an event tends to happen when Jupiter and Saturn both influence the relevant house or its lord at the same time, by sign or by aspect. Jupiter spends about a year in a sign and Saturn about two and a half, so these stretches are not rare. They narrow things down when the dasha already agrees.
Does a late window mean marriage is denied?
No. A window several years away, or Saturn influencing your 7th house, usually points to a later or more settled marriage, not to no marriage. A window is also a period when conditions are supportive, not a promise of a date. Plenty of marriages happen outside the strongest window.
How accurate is a marriage timing calculator?
It can only be as good as your birth time. The 7th house is counted from the ascendant, which changes sign roughly every two hours, so a wrong birth time can move every window. This tool also uses fixed rules and does not read the Navamsa (D9), which astrologers use to confirm what the birth chart promises. Treat the windows as a starting point.
How we calculate this
Planet positions come from the Swiss Ephemeris on the sidereal zodiac with the Lahiri ayanamsa, the standard used by Indian panchangs. Houses are whole signs counted from your Lagna. The rules are Parashari, and the timing system is Vimshottari dasha.
- Significators. Each planet gets a weight: 7th lord 3, a planet in the 7th 2, Venus 2, Jupiter 2 (only when you select female), a planet aspecting the 7th 1, the lords of the 2nd and 11th 1 each. Roles add up.
- Dasha.Your Vimshottari periods are worked out from the Moon's nakshatra at birth. Each stretch of time scores its antardasha lord at full weight and its mahadasha lord at half weight.
- Transits.Jupiter's and Saturn's sign changes are read from the ephemeris day by day for the next ten years. Jupiter in or aspecting (5th, 7th, 9th) your 7th house adds 2, on your 7th lord's sign adds 1, and in the 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th or 11th from your Moon (classical gochara) adds 1. Saturn on your 7th house or its lord (3rd, 7th, 10th aspects) while Jupiter is also there adds 2.
- Windows. A strong window needs a related antardasha and Jupiter on your 7th house or 7th lord. We show the three best, in date order, and mark the strongest stretch inside each. If fewer than two qualify, the best supportive stretches fill in. Search starts from age 18.
The same birth details always give the same result. Nothing here is generated text, and the check does not create an account or save a profile.
