Refund Policy

Summary
Astrika sells credits. Credits buy AI-generated Vedic readings and Prashna answers. Our refund policy is designed to be honest about a product whose output is interpretive: we automatically refund any credits charged on a technical or quality failure, and we refund unused credits on request within 7 days of purchase. We do not refund credits already consumed on a successfully-delivered reading purely because you disagree with the interpretation, the same way a printed jyotish book cannot be returned because you disliked the author's view.
1. Automatic refunds (no action needed)
Astrika refunds your credits to your account balance automatically, with no email or contact required, in any of these situations:
- The reading engine fails to produce a complete reading (technical error, upstream model overload, or quality block).
- A Prashna (question) answer fails our internal quality audit.
- The reading engine asks you for clarification instead of giving a substantive answer.
- A payment is captured but credits fail to land on your account due to our error.
The refund appears in your credit balance within a few seconds of the failure. You will see the credit count restore in the navbar on your next page load.
2. Manual refunds — unused credits
If you have purchased a credit pack and want a money-back refund (not just a credit balance restore), you may request one for any credits you have not yet spent, within 7 days of the original purchase date.
To request a refund: email support@astrika.infrom the email address registered on your Astrika account, with subject line "Refund request — <your order ID>". Order IDs appear on the email receipt sent at purchase.
We process eligible refunds within 3-7 business days to the original payment method via Razorpay. Bank processing times may add 1-3 additional days.
Refunds are calculated pro-rata. If you bought a 5-credit pack at ₹249 and used 2 credits, the refundable amount is ₹149.40 (₹49.80 per credit × 3 unused credits). Used credits are not refunded.
3. What we do NOT refund
- Credits already consumed on a successfully-delivered reading or answer. Vedic readings are interpretive guidance, not factual deliverables, so disagreement with the content alone is not grounds for refund.
- Unused credits older than 7 days from purchase. These remain spendable on your account, they just cannot be converted back to money. Credits never expire.
- Free readings. The first reading per account is free and outside this refund policy.
- Note on processing fees: when we issue a refund through Razorpay, you receive the full amount you originally paid. Razorpay refunds the processing fee back to us separately.
4. Exceptions
We will consider refunds outside the 7-day window in cases of: unauthorised payment, duplicate charges, account compromise, or a sustained service outage that prevented you from using the credits you purchased. Email support@astrika.in with details and we will review case-by-case.
5. Chargebacks
We prefer to resolve refund requests directly. If you dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer (chargeback) before contacting us, we may suspend or close your Astrika account pending the dispute outcome. Please give us a chance to address your concern first.
