About Astrika

Vedic Jyotish with engineering rigour.

Why we built it

Astrika came out of a simple frustration: good Vedic Jyotish guidance is hard to get and inconsistent when you do. A consultation with an experienced human astrologer can run anywhere from ₹500 to ₹5,000, requires booking ahead, and depends heavily on the astrologer's mood and depth on that particular day. The cheaper alternative, template-generated reports, ignore your actual chart and read like horoscopes.

We wanted something in between: classical Parashari methodology, applied specifically to your chart, available instantly, at a price that does not feel like an indulgence.

The methodology

Astrika follows a deliberate, traditional discipline:

  • Sidereal zodiac, Lahiri ayanamsa. The Indian government standard, used by most Parashari astrologers.
  • Swiss Ephemeris. The same astronomical engine used by professional astrology software worldwide.
  • Parashari and Jaimini principles. Rasi (D1), Navamsa (D9), Vimshottari dasha, classical yogas, Gand Mool nakshatra rules, the full pratiyantar precision when needed.
  • Three-layer rule. A prediction is asserted only when natal promise + dasha period + transit all agree. When one or two layers support it, the language is downgraded. Same discipline a careful human astrologer uses.
  • Locked remedy table. No improvised deity-day-donation tuples. Every remedy comes from a fixed Parashari table and is audited before release.

The technology

Each paid reading goes through a two-step pipeline. First, a large language model generates the eight reading sections using only the data in your computed chart. Second, an independent audit pass grades the output against an eight-point checklist (ephemeris discipline, remedy table match, dasha precision, three-layer backing, content safety, etc.). If the audit fails, the reading is regenerated with the failure reasons as feedback. After two failures the credits are refunded automatically.

The system catches most quality issues. It is not perfect. We are continuously tuning the prompts based on edge cases users report.

What Astrika is, and what it is not

Astrika is a tool for guidance and self-reflection. It cites specific planets, houses, dashas, and transits in your chart. It uses classical sources for remedies. It refuses to predict death, recommend harmful practices, or replace professional medical, legal, or financial advice.

Astrika is not a magic answer machine. The future depends on your choices, not just on your stars. Treat a reading as one perspective worth considering, not as instructions to follow.

Who built it

Astrika is built by a small team in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The founder is a senior product manager with roughly a decade of experience building consumer products, who started studying classical Jyotish seriously in 2020 and has been doing chart consultations for friends and family ever since.

The team is intentionally small. We would rather ship slowly and get the methodology right than scale fast and dilute it. If you spot something that does not match your chart or contradicts classical sources, please write to us. That kind of feedback is how the product gets better.
